Programs and Partners

 We are committed to supporting families in their search for quality, affordable and convenient child care options. Funded by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division, YMCA Childcare Resource Service offers free child care referrals and resources to families in San Diego County so parents and guardians can make informed decisions about child care. 

The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) has been serving children, families, and child care providers since 1976. CCRC manages programs to assist with issues such as finding and selecting child care and child care financial assistance to families. Children and families benefit from these programs, allowing parents to go to work and attend school, contribute to the economy and strengthen their families and the community. 

 Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families will make available the tools necessary to promote the empowering of Indian families to become self-sufficient so they can support and nurture themselves, their children, and community. 

 CDA’s Child Care Payment Program, also known as Alternative Payment Program (APP), provides subsidized child care assistance to families who live or work in San Diego County, have children ages 0-13 years or children with exceptional needs under 21 years of age, and meet eligibility requirements.

The mission of the Child Care and Development Division (CCDD) is to build, strengthen, and maintain an equitable, comprehensive, quality, and affordable child care and development system for the children and families in our state; to integrate child care with other CDSS programs and services that serve the whole child and whole family.

Early life experiences set the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being. The care and support that children receive from their families and caregivers in the first years of their lives help to shape who they are, who they become, and their understanding of the world. For more than 30 years, PCG has partnered with states, counties, agencies, and early childhood organizations to ensure the best possible outcomes for young children and the families they serve and support. 

The cost of childcare often represents a significant portion of an employee’s take-home pay. This is especially true for those with lower incomes. FEEA Childcare Services, Inc., an independent, Virginia-based small business, partners with nearly twenty federal agencies to administer Congressionally-authorized childcare subsidy programs. 

 Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) is a DoD and U.S. Coast Guard fee assistance program for eligible families who cannot access military-operated child care due to distance or waitlists. With fee assistance, a portion of your child care costs is paid to offset the costs of community-based care. This makes it easier for families to afford quality child care from local community providers.

Child Care Aware® of America works with a national network of more than 400 child care resource and referral agencies and other partners to ensure that all families have access to quality, affordable childcare. Child Care Aware of America also provides child care assistance for military families through fee assistance and respite child care programs.
